Turn Up the Heat
Craft & Culinary Kitchen
About:
Our wonderful craft, apothecary and culinary kitchen was built as a second kitchen for Mrs Wyatt, the gardner, cook and helpful neighbor who lived in this house before us. It is one of the most versatile studio spaces we have.
It is used as a craft kitchen by photographers and makers to whip up all kinds of magic including, eggs for albumen printing, drying and mixing earth based pigments, blending pulp for paper, melting wax, etc.
As a culinary and apothecary kitchen, it is prefect for making herbal remedies, salves and elixirs, as well as culinary magic. We have a proofing oven for low temperature processes such as rising bread, drying seeds and nuts and creating nourishing traditions food such as yoghurt and kefir.
In addition, for messy jobs, we have two eight foot rolling tables that sit just outside the door of the kitchen for sorting and washing large quantities of herbs and produce.
The kitchen is not currently certified but has everything needed to get certification. If we have enough interest or need for a certified kitchen we will gladly take that on.
